Andy Hinchcliffe makes claim about Fulham’s hopes of winning the Championship title

Sky Sports pundit Andy Hinchcliffe has admitted that he believes that Fulham will now go on to win the Championship title following their recent upturn in form.

The Cottagers experienced somewhat of a blip in December as they only managed to accumulate two points from three league fixtures.

Since the turn of the year, Fulham have taken their game to new heights by winning six of their last seven league games.

Marco Silva’s side maintained their six point advantage at the top of the Championship standings by securing a 1-0 victory over Hull City last weekend.

Aleksandar Mitrovic scored his 31st league goal of the 2021/22 campaign in this particular fixture as Fulham extended their unbeaten run at this level.

Set to face Huddersfield Town at Craven Cottage on Saturday, Fulham will be confident in their ability to seal all three points in this particular fixture as they hammered Carlos Corberan’s side in the reverse fixture in August.

Ahead of this clash, Hinchcliffe has revealed that he believes that Fulham will win the Championship title later this year.

Speaking on the latest episode of the Sky Sports EFL Podcast about the Cottagers, Hinchcliffe said: “There was little run of results around November, December time where they didn’t win for five games, they lost to Sheffield United, they had only scored three goals and people were looking at them and saying, oh it’s starting to crumble, Fulham are falling apart.

“But I looked very hard again at their performances in those games and they were actually still playing very well but weren’t taking their chances and you feel if that carried on, the downward burst, things would get back to kind of normal.
