Andrew Tate slapped with UK arrest warrant after being detained in Romania
Andrew Tate has been detained in Romania and handed an arrest warrant issued by British authorities, his spokesperson has said.
Tate, 37, and his brother Tristan Tate were detained on Monday evening on allegations of sexual aggression in a UK case dating back to 2012-2015, said spokeswoman Mateea Petrescu. She said the Bucharest Court of Appeal is set to make a “pivotal decision” today (Tuesday March 12) on whether to execute the warrants issued by Westminster Magistrates Court.
Tate is charged in a separate case in Romania with rape, human trafficking and forming a criminal gang to sexually exploit women. He was arrested near Bucharest in December 2022 along with Tristan and two Romanian women.

Romanian prosecutors formally indicted all four in June last year. Tate, 37, and his brother, 35, deny all allegations against them.
A self-confessed misogynist, controversial influencer Tate - whose full name is Emory Andrew Tate - shot to fame online after flaunting an ultra-luxurious lifestyle of fast cars, private jets, and yachts.
He engaged in a row with environmental activist Greta Thunberg on X, formerly Twitter, not long before his 2022 arrest. He claimed to have 33 cars and said he would send her a list of their "respective enormous emissions".
Thunberg, now 21, replied: “Yes, please do enlighten me. email me at smalld***energy@getalife.com.” Tate responded with a video that appeared to show pizza boxes from a Romanian takeaway chain, which is what reportedly led officers to raid his home.
