Who is the greatest coach of the modern era?

It’s an interesting topic to consider and one that if you were going to try and decipher then assessing how many wins a coach has would be an important step.

Obviously it doesn’t tell the whole story. Certain coaches have had the luxury of consistently managing the best teams rather than working their way up and so naturally would be more likely to have more victories.

It’s fair to say that we’ve probably seen that with the likes of Pep Guardiola and Carlo Ancelotti. Two managers that finished their playing careers and were fast-tracked into the top jobs thanks to their well received reputation.
