Analyst drops huge comparison between Chargers QB Justin Herbert and Peyton Manning

Former NFL player Ryan Harris has made a bold claim about the talents of Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert.

The Los Angeles Chargers are a team that are very slowly starting to emerge as a legitimate contender for a Super Bowl title. They went 5-11 in 2019, 7-9 in 2020 and 9-8 in 2021, missing out on the playoffs in the final game of the season when the Las Vegas Raiders beat them on a field goal as time expired in overtime.

They have added some incredible players on defence such as Bobby Wagner and Khalil Mack, and that’s to go opposite a stacked offense that includes the likes of Austin Ekeler, Keenan Allen and Mike Williams.

To get all the way to the Super Bowl, first they have to get through a stacked AFC West division that includes the explosive Kansas City Chiefs, the Denver Broncos who just added potential Hall of Fame quarterback Russell Wilson to their mix and the Las Vegas Raiders who added their own star in the form of Davante Adams, arguably the best wide receiver in the league.

But the undoubted star for the Chargers is young quarterback Justin Herbert.

Having been taken with the #6 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, Herbert had to wait a bit before he stepped onto the field in the NFL as a starter, and it happened all by accident, as then starting quarterback Tyrod Taylor was accidentally injured by the team’s doctor before a game against the Chiefs.

But he took that opportunity and hasn’t looked back since, taking the league by storm, setting a number of rookie records including most touchdowns thrown with 31, winning the Offensive Rookie of the Year Award, and carrying on that form into his second season in 2021.

Pick your favorite play from Justin Herbert's rookie year. ⭐️
