'An incredible feeling and weekend': Top three react to humid Singapore Grand Prix

Carlos Sainz has done the necessary deeds to win the 2023 Singapore Grand Prix. The Ferrari driver started on pole and held the lead of the race from start to finish.

Though he came under pressure from the drivers behind, he managed the pace brilliantly to secure his second F1 victory. He was followed across the finish line by McLaren's Lando Norris and Lewis Hamilton from Mercedes.

Defending Formula 1 champion Max Verstappen finished in P6 after what can only be described as a brutal and forgettable race for him and his Red Bull team.

After the race, Sainz praised the weekend as incredible for him and his Ferrari team.

"An incredible feeling, an incredible weekend," the Spaniard said.

"I want to thank everyone in Ferrari for this turnaround after a tricky start to the season. We brought home a P1 that I'm sure will make all the Italians happy today.

"Given our limitations with tyre wear, I knew it would be a long [final] stint on hards. It worked to perfection; we gave Lando some DRS to help him, and we got the P1. I felt under control, to be honest, [and] I had the head space to do what I wanted to do."

A generous winner

Norris, who came under immense pressure for P2 from Mercedes' George Russell late in the race, felt the pressure come off when Russell out-braked himself and ended his race.

Norris knew that the Mercedes had the pace to go by, but he thanked Sainz for keeping the gap under one second, allowing him to activate his DRS and keeping Russell at bay.

"Carlos was very generous, helping me get DRS. It helped my race, but it also helped his," the Brit said.

"We knew it would be tough when Mercedes boxed. I hit the wall on the last lap at the same place, so [Russell] just copied me; he just did it worse," he joked. "No,
