Amy Dowden heartbreakingly shares she found lump in her breast day before honeymoon but kept it secret

Strictly Come Dancing star Amy Dowden heartbreakingly discovered a lump in her breast days before jetting off on her honeymoon but kept it a secret as she didn't want to worry her husband Ben. But now the couple have been whisked off to Grenada for ITV Daytime show Lorraine to enjoy a second honeymoon after feeling they were "cruelly robbed of the first time around." While the Strictly star, 33, is 'grateful' to be away, she admitted she was also apprehensive since it is the first trip away since she was diagnosed with cancer in 2023.

Amy, who tied the knot with Ben in 2022, found a lump in her breast the day before she flew to the Maldives for a belated honeymoon in April 2023. Since Amy shared her devastating breast cancer diagnosis in May 2023, and underwent a mastectomy in July followed by gruelling chemotherapy treatment, she's kept her fans in the loop with her health updates.

According to The Mirror, in scenes set to air next week, Amy has revealed she was making up for lost time as she made the most of a sun-soaked getaway to Grenada. Opening up about how she had been 'robbed' of her honeymoon the first time around, Amy said: "Just before I went on my honeymoon last year with my husband, I found a lump on my breast and it just overshadowed the whole honeymoon.

"I didn’t want to tell Ben as I didn’t want to worry him. But everyday when I was putting suntan lotion on or I was moisturising I could feel it and I was just worrying more and more." Amy also added: "Honestly, there were moments when I was thinking, 'is this going to be my last holiday ever', so I am grateful to be going away again." Amy’s trip, which will begin airing on ITV daytime show Lorraine next week, marks the first time Amy has been on holiday
