Amy Broadhurst and Lisa O'Rourke bidding for Turkish delight
Amy Broadhurst and Lisa O'Rourke will contest the biggest fights of their careers when they enter the ring at the IBA Women's World Boxing Championships in Istanbul this evening.
Six finals are up for decision in the Turkish capital, with the action getting under way at 4pm Irish time.
Light welterweight Broadhurst faces Algeria's Imane Khelif in the fourth bout on the card, while light middleweight O'Rourke will clash with Alcinda Panguana of Mozambique directly afterwards.
Broadhurst secured a hard-fought victory over India's Parveen Hooda on a split decision in Tuesday's semi-finals.
O'Rourke dominated in the latter rounds as she saw off hope Sema Caliskan and a partisan crowd at the Basaksehir Youth and Sports Facility, coasting to victory via a unanimous decision.
Dundalk fighter Broadhurst and Castlerea native O'Rourke will join illustrious company if they grab gold, with Katie Taylor and Kellie Harrington the only Irish fighters to previously take titles at the World Championships.
