Amman Valley School incident: Police say three injured and one arrested amid major emergency services response

Three people have been injured at a Welsh school which has been placed on lockdown. Dyfed-Powys Police has made one arrest in connection with the incident today (April 24) and says it is not searching for any other suspect.

It follows reports of a stabbing at the Amman Valley School in Ammanford, Carmarthenshire. Police, paramedics and two air ambulances have attended the scene.

Parents have told Wales Online that their children were ordered to stay in classrooms and not use their mobile phones. Dyfed-Powys Police is yet to confirm the exact nature of the incident.

A force spokesperson said: "Dyfed-Powys Police is dealing with an incident at Amman Valley School. Three people have been injured and are receiving treatment.
