Amir Khan vs Kell Brook: Ricky Hatton makes his prediction
With old rivals Amir Khan and Kell Brook set to go toe-to-toe this Saturday at Manchester Arena, years of speculation and debate will end with the boxers not having to finish their careers on a ‘what if.’
The feud between the two has woven itself through both of their respective careers, beginning when Khan was picked over Brook for the 2004 Athens Olympic Games.
Khan later claimed that he ‘schooled’ Brook in sparring sessions and refused to use headgear and wore bigger gloves to help give Brook a chance.
Negotiations for the fight have gone on for years and arguments between splitting profits have only added to the bad blood.
But, with the long-awaited bout finally kicking off this weekend, Ricky Hatton, a former champion himself, has weighed in on what he expects from the fight.
Hatton argues that in the past he would have expected Khan to win, through the use of his stamina, speed and footwork.
Hatton told Sky Sports: “Maybe it should have happened a few years ago, but I think it’s an even better fight now. As you get older you don’t have the same stamina or speed.
"I think it might be an even better fight now!"
