Amir Khan vs Kell Brook: Bolton boxer has 'burned his bridges in America'

Amir Khan ‘didn’t have anywhere else to go’ according to his next opponent Kell Brook, who claims his British rival completely ‘burned his bridges in America’.

The pair will finally settle their bitter feud on February 19 in Manchester, with nothing but bragging rights and reputation on the line.

With less than two weeks to go until they take to the ring, excitement is building – but Brook’s trainer Dominic Ingle believes the Bolton boxer could pull out of the fight at the last minute.

And Brook, 35, has accused Khan of ducking their legacy-defining fight until he ran out of options with no choice left, telling Sky Sports: “It got to a point where, in my opinion, Amir didn’t have anywhere else to go, nobody wanted to see him fight the Billy Dibbs of the world, he’s burned his bridges in America.

“He knows this is a big-money fight, a big draw, so I think it’s come to the final stage of his career where he thinks ‘I’m going to grab a load of money’ and it’s a fight he thinks he can win in his own mind.

“We’ve got a different mindset, we know what we’re going to come to do and he’s going to know real quick how big, strong and determined I am.

“I’m not thinking about what happens after. What’s in my sights is him and here, the 19th, being in Lamborghini mode.”

Meanwhile, Khan has insisted he is the better fighter than Brook ahead of their eagerly-anticipated clash later this month.

He revealed: “One of the reasons why I took the fight was because of the public demand.

“The first press conference showed that we don’t really like each other. It’s war! We’re going to go in there and it’s going to be a fight.

“We’re not friends and obviously we do dislike each other, but I’m going to show people why I’m the better fighter
