Amir Khan's heartbreaking interview after Kell Brook fight
In the aftermath of his defeat to rival Kell Brook, Amir Khan has conceded that it may be time to hang up his gloves.
The all-British showdown between Brook and Khan which has been over a decade in the making went the Sheffield native’s way, with Brook winning by TKO in the sixth round.
Having sparred together as amateurs, there has been bad blood between the pair since the beginning of their respective careers.
Khan was selected for the Olympic games back in 2004 where he would win a silver medal, whilst Brook would take a more traditional route to becoming a professional boxer.
In the build-up to the fight, the combatants, both 35 years of age, traded insults to potentially gain a psychological advantage.
Brook’s main gripe was down to the fact that he never believed he’d ever received proper credit for his achievements, whereas Khan simply believed he was a more distinguished athlete.
The former world champions would both do battle in a one-sided contest which saw Brook come out on top in spectacular fashion. Such was the nature of the defeat, in an interview afterwards Khan has questioned his love for the sport.
