Amir Khan boxing record in full as Kell Brook defeat prompts retirement hint
After his defeat to Kell Brook in a thrilling fight at the AO Arena on Saturday night, Amir Khan appeared to bring his professional boxing career to a close.
Having burst onto the scene as a 17-year-old at the 2004 Athens Olympics, he has enjoyed a superb career despite, by his own admission, maybe having 'peaked too early'.
He did however win a world title in his career, beating Zab Judah to claim the IBF Welterweight crown in 2011 before losing it to Lamont Peterson in the same year.
After Saturday's fight, Khan reflected on his career, saying: “Maybe I peaked too early in my career. At 17 I was in the Olympics, won a world title at 21/22 - I’m 35 now, been in the game a very long time.
"I’m an old man now. I want to spend time with my kids and my family.”.
The Bolton born boxer looks set to finish his career with 40 fights under his belt, winning 34 bouts and losing six with 21 of those wins coming via a knockout.
