Amad sends message to Erik ten Hag ahead of pre-season at Manchester United

With the season having only just ended, it's time for Manchester United's players to take some time off and relax before kicking off the Erik ten Hag era - but try telling that to Amad.

The 19-year-old arrived at Old Trafford from Italian outfit Atalanta in January 2021. However, a lack of game-time under Ralf Rangnick saw him shipped off on loan to Rangers.

Despite showing glimpses of his ability north of the border, the Ivorian was not always a guaranteed pick with the Glasgow side and his loan spell ended in heartbreak with defeat in the Europa League final.

Rangers were beaten on penalties by Eintracht Frankfurt in Seville. Amad was an unused substitute in that match and the United prospect has already returned to his parent club as he bids to make a good impression on new boss Ten Hag.

The youngster seems to be in no rush to take a well-earned break as he uploaded videos of himself training on his Instagram story. It featured several high-impact drills in the gym and went a long way to underline how keen he is to stake a claim for a place Ten Hag's plans.

Speaking about his work ethic last month, Rangers manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst said: "He came in during the winter break and had some good moments, but then also some moments that weren't good. He kept training hard and we give him this chance to play now.

"In training, he looks very good. Hopefully he can extend that into the games."
