Alvin Kamara: New Orleans Saints RB facing possible suspension over February arrest
New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara could be set for a lengthy suspension heading into the 2022 NFL season following an off-field incident during the offseason.
Alvin Kamara over the past few years since he has entered the NFL has become arguably one of the better dual-threat running backs on the planet. Having been taken in the 3rd round of the draft back in 2017 by the New Orleans Saints – a steal when you consider the stats that are coming next – he has proved himself incredibly capable both through the air and on the ground.
In his five seasons so far, he has racked up 4,238 rushing yards and 47 touchdowns in the regular season whilst also managing to grab 3,263 receiving yards and 20 touchdowns, made even more impressive when you consider that, when you add sharing running back duties with Mark Ingram during his early career and injures have restricted him to just 45 starts.
He has arguably become just as big a part of the offense as wide receiver Michael Thomas, and with the Saints still on the search for their next franchise quarterback, with the likes of Taysom Hill, Jameis Winston, Andy Dalton and Ian Book on the roster, he can be a very effective weapon in helping whoever the quarterback is to be a success.
