Alves handed two-game ban after Atletico red card
Barcelona right-back Dani Alves has been suspended for two matches after being sent off in the 4-2 victory over Atletico Madrid on Sunday, La Liga have confirmed. Alves was shown a straight red card at Camp Nou after a high challenge on Yannick Carrasco in the 69th minute.
The Brazilian had earlier scored to give Barca a 4-1 lead. The 38-year-old Alves will now miss Sunday's derby away at Espanyol in La Liga and Barcelona's next league game against Valencia at Mestalla on February 20.
