Althea returns to ‘new generation’ WorldSSP with Caricasulo

Althea Racing unveiled its 2022 Ducati Panigale V2 on Saturday as it returns to the World Superbike paddock after two years away.

Returning to contest the newly adapted Supersport World Championship, Althea will run 2019 runner-up Federico Caricasulo as the Ravenna rider swaps to Bologna machinery for the season ahead after five years with Yamaha.

“I was immediately happy to race with Althea Racing, a team rich in experience and with an incredible record,” Caricasulo said of the new opportunity.

“My first impressions of the bike and the team were good and the first tests carried out have further convinced me that I have made the right choice. The bike is beautiful and I already feel at home. I hope to be able to make Genesio Bevilacqua and the boys proud of me.”

“We came back for the pleasure of doing it,” Team Manager, Bevilacqua confirmed.

“The guys asked me for a challenge and Supersport is the right category to test ourselves in the way we like best: experience and personal skills rather than technology and unlimited means.

“We want to be immediate protagonists of this ‘new generation’, with the lightness but also seriousness that has always distinguished us. We have chosen the right challenge, rider and the right partners and we are sure that we will be able to bring the Althea Racing DNA back to the track.”
