Ally McCoist sickened by unforgivable Rangers taunts as brainless Hibs yobs branded 'not right in the head'

Angry Ally McCoist has moved to condemn the vile scenes that mocked the Ibrox Disaster during the clash between Rangers and Hibs on Saturday.

A man has been banned for life by the Easter Road side for vile graffiti which taunted the victims of the 66 supporters – who died in the 1971 tragedy – and the late Queen Elizabeth II. The Ibrox icon was left stewing by the stickers plastered in the away end which were emblazoned with a vile taunt of 'Stairwell Thirteen – it’s the greatest sight that I have ever seen'. Hibs have pledged to identify all culprits and rid themselves of the yobs who have blighted their travelling support as they work with their Rangers counterparts.

Speaking on talkSPORT, McCoist said: "Putting stickers and writing 66 on the seats at Ibrox... I actually don't think football is the problem there, I don't. That's a mental problem with someone. These guys are using football as the vehicle for their aggression and their stupidity. That problem is deeper than football, that is a societal problem.

"That is people who are not right in the head to be brutally honest with you. Who in their right mind goes to organise stickers and celebrate the death of people? It's absolutely ridiculous."

Hibs ultras also moved to condemn the disgusting taunts but made clear the culprits at the Premiership clash did not come from their block seven section which they say the Easter Road side have confirmed.
