Ally McCoist offers cheeky Rangers transfer advice as Ibrox icon wants John Souttar to sign AFTER Celtic face Hearts
Smirking Ally McCoist reckons Rangers should push to sign John Souttar this month - AFTER he has faced Celtic with Hearts.
The Ibrox-bound defender is likely to be in Robbie Neilson's starting line-up to face the Parkhead side at Tynecastle.
While McCoist hopes to see the Scotland cap make an early move to Govan following his pre-contract agreement, he doesn't want him to rush into a move.
He told BT's Scottish Football Extra that he should join Gio van Bronckhorst's side after keeping a clean sheet against Rangers ' title rivals.
McCoist said: "I think he'll be making that journey across the M8, hopefully just after that Celtic game.
"I would imagine John Souttar might be on the receiving end of a little bit of stick, potentially from both sets of supporters in this fixture.
"I'm sure it won't bother him at all.
"He's an excellent player, his injuries have been well-documented, but it's a very intelligent signing by Rangers.
"They certainly look as though they need freshened up, they could do with a couple of new faces. The sooner they get John Souttar in after the Celtic game, the better."
