Ally McCoist names 6 Rangers questions Alfredo Morelos must answer as Chris Sutton 'pundit of the year' windup dodged

Ally McCoist says there's six questions he would ask Alfredo Morelos before handing him a new contract at Rangers.

But the Ibrox hero was accused of 'dodging the question' by Chris Sutton - who said he expects more from the "pundit of the year." The BT Sport sparring duo went head to head on Scottish Football Extra once again as they got into it over the Scottish Cup action over the weekend. It was once again Antonio Colak who started for Rangers in their 3-0 win over Raith Rovers and speaking after the game, Michael Beale laid down the gauntlet to Morelos - saying he needs to see 'a little bit more' from the Colombian.

And that sparked the Rangers and Celtic heroes into life as McCoist was asked by Darrell Currie if he would give Morelos a new deal if he was in Beale's shoes. And McCoist said: "I would need to sit him down and have a serious chat with him. I'd need to find out where his head is, where he wants to be, where he thinks he can be, what he wants to achieve. How does he feels he's done and what he thinks he can do."

That was when Sutton, who saw his chance after McCoist was named SJA Pundit of the Year, jumped in. He quipped: "Just answer the question. You're pundit of the year!"

And McCoist answered: "A very fit Alfredo Morelos is the best centre-forward Rangers have got."

Sutton then pointed out that he's not "very fit" and McCoist shouted: "Exactly! So sit him down and ask him! You need to tell him (to get fit)."

Host Currie then cut in to keep the peace as he asked if he deserves it on what McCoist is seeing now. He responded with a simple 'no' before Sutton said: "No, I agree with Ally."
