Ally McCoist hit with cheeky Rangers one liner by Wrexham captain after Ibrox hero 'picked the wrong club'

Rangers legend Ally McCoist was left in stitches by Wrexham captain Ben Towzer as the National League champions prepare for a title celebration in Las Vegas.

The North Wales club brought their 15-year exile from the English Football League to an end under celebrity owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney and are now preparing for next season - but not without some celebrations before thoughts of pre-season start creeping into the minds of the players. The team took an open top bus parade through the streets of Wrexham on Tuesday and are now taking a trip to Las Vegas - paid for by the acting duo.

The Ibrox hero was left speechless by the trip Stateside - admitting he didn't get any bumper away days while he was claiming league titles at Rangers. He told talkSPORT during the interview McCoist: “I won the league five or six times and the best that I got was Ardrossan and you are going to Vegas. What is happening?”

Smirking Ben Tozer quipped back: “I think you picked the wrong club, didn’t you?” McCoist broke out in laughter after the cheeky dig.
