Allianz Hurling League final teams: Shane O'Donnell and David McInerney back for Banner
Clare have included Shane O'Donnell and David McInerney in their squad for the first time in this year’s Allianz Hurling League ahead of the final in Thurles tonight.
The duo, who were All-Ireland winners in their debut seasons in 2013, are on the bench.
Aidan McCarthy replaces Keith Smyth at corner-forward in the only change to the side that beat Tipperary in the last four while Mark Rodgers retains his place after recovering from the injury that forced him off in that game.
Tony Kelly and Ryan Taylor remain sidelined.
Kilkenny’s only change is Richie Reid coming into the half-back line for Cillian Buckley, who drops out of the squad.
Walter Walsh, Mikey Butler, Mikey Carey, Tom Phelan and Conor Heary remain out.
A statement from Clare on social media said that a pitch inspection at Semple Stadium this morning had found no concerns and the game will go ahead as planned.
Strong winds due to Storm Kathleen are expected to subside before throw-in (7.15pm) but it urged supporters to travel with care.
