All you need to know about legendary Oktoberfest Manchester including how to get tickets

Dig out your lederhosen and grab a stein of specially-brewed German beer as the legendary German food and drink festival Oktoberfest returns to Manchester for its tenth anniversary.

Under the cover of a giant beer tent that can cater to 2,000 people, you will find waiting staff decked head to toe in traditional Bavarian wear, such as lederhosen and dirndl. Dressing up is highly encouraged for everyone, so don't be afraid to go all out.

The vibrant celebration of all things beer, bratwurst and Bavarian - returns to the city this October at Platt Fields Park from October 13 to 14. It has only missed once year since it began due to the pandemic lockdown in 2020.

Oktoberfest organiser, Carsten Raun, said: "In 2014 we launched the legendary Manchester Oktoberfest. With more than 10,000 guests each year the Manchester Oktoberfest is one of the biggest Oktoberfest's in the UK.

"In our venues, you can experience everything that makes Manchester's Oktoberfest. We will bring you the feeling of being in an authentic Oktoberfest tent.”

The festival, which began in Munich more than 200 years ago, sees around six million people now take part annually. It means you can enjoy the authenticity of the German folk festival without even having to leave Manchester.

Alongside the 23,000 litres of beer brought over from Bavaria and served in classic steins, there will also be cider, wine and soft drinks available. But, it is not all about beer and bratwurst though, as, alongside the authentic Bavarian food and drink, there will also be music to create a real party atmosphere.
