All the venues named in prestigious Estrella Damm Top 50 Gastropubs for 2025

A prestigious guide to the UK's best gastropubs has announced its top dining spots for 2025.

The 2025 Estrella Damm Top 50 Gastropubs ranking is set to be announced at a glittering ceremony in January, but today, the pubs included on the list have been confirmed. It features a number of North West-based eateries.

Created in 2009, the Top 50 Gastropubs aims to recognise the hardworking individuals in the gastropub sector - as well as be the go-to source for the UK’s best pubs to dine at. The rankings will be revealed at the ceremony held in London in January, from 1-50.

Ed Bedington for Estrella Damm Top 50 Gastropubs, said: “Congratulations to all the pubs that made the list for 2025. It’s a real honour to be able to recognise some of the best gastronomic offers in the pub world and celebrate the diversity that makes up this wonderful sector.

“Good luck to all on the list when we reveal our winners and the positions for every pub. You should all be proud as you’re hitting the right notes with your offers and that’s being recognised across the sector.”

Here in the North of England, a number of restaurants from across Greater Manchester, Yorkshire, Lancashire and Derbyshire have made the cut. The only nod for Manchester though goes to Edinburgh Castle in Ancoats.

Located on Blossom Street in Manchester, the venue dates back to 1811 and has become a favourite amongst locals and even national critics including Jay Rayner. It reopened in 2019 after a major transformation and serves up dishes including lamb shoulder, pork chop and hearty Sunday roasts.
