Sheffield United completed the Deadline Day signing of Charlie Goode from Brentford on loan for the rest of the season.

The 26-year-old has only managed eight league starts for the Bees since signing from Northampton Town in the summer of 2020.

With Ben Davies and Jack O’Connell sidelined, this seems to be a fairly important addition for the Blades especially with Paul Heckingbottom’s appetite to deploy a three at the back formation.

The Blades will have their sights firmly set on bridging the current six point gap between themselves and the top six in the coming months, Goode may go on to play a crucial role in that by drawing on his experience from last season with the Bees.

However, Jack Robinson’s emergence has been a real game-changer and after keeping a clean sheet against Peterborough United at the weekend, it would be hard to see him being dropped anytime soon.
