Alison Hammond stunned by Ranvir Singh comment before Dermot O'Leary mocks her live on air

Alison Hammond's appearance on This Morning got off to a different start on Tuesday as she was left stunned by a comment from fellow ITV star Ranvir Singh.

The pair appeared briefly on-screen together when Ranvir, who is filling in for Lorraine Kelly on her self-titled show this week, spoke to Alison and co-host Dermot O'Leary about what they had coming up on their ITV daytime show today as they swap their Friday hosting stint for the whole week in Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield's absence.

But after the hosting duo finished up their pre-show link, Ranvir made a comment about Alison's latest outfit. The 47-year-old was donning a black, long-sleeved dress but added a pop of colour with a red, long-line waist coat.

"I like your hi-vis jacket, Ali," Ranvir remarked causing herself and Alison to burst out laughing as she said: "Thank you!"

Dermot then quipped: "There's a bit of stewarding going on afterwards," leading to Alison giving him a nudge with her elbow before the cameras returned to Ranvir as she wrapped up her latest stint on Lorraine.

A few minutes later it was over to This Morning and as Alison and Dermot greeted viewers, Alison was soon commenting: "Can you believe what Ranvir just said about me? She said I'm wearing a hi-vis jacket!"

Dermot said: "I didn't get the memo, I didn't know that we were moonlight-" but he was quickly stopped in his tracks by his co-host who insisted: "This is not hi-vis. This is just, what I would say, a coral jacket?"
