Alison Hammond 'so sorry' as she's 'called out' by This Morning guest before asking Josie Gibson 'you alright?'

This Morning viewers have claimed that Alison Hammond was 'called out' live on air as she returned to the show for a one-off stint hosting until after the summer. She joined Josie Gibson at the helm of the ITV daytime programme on Friday (August 11) after co-host Craig Doyle headed off on holiday.

Josie and Craig had taken over the This Morning reins a couple of weeks ago after usual Friday hosts Alison and Dermot O'Leary kickstarted the several weeks of summer shows. But with Craig saying his goodbyes - for now - on Thursday (August 10), Josie was left without a co-host.

But Alison was to the rescue and even claims to have changed the flight for her holiday so that she could join Josie. After welcoming viewers to the show and complimenting each other's looks, Josie told Alison: "Al, thank you for being here with me today, 'cos you're meant to be on holiday."

To which Alison replied: "I only did it because of you really, I love ya. I'm going tomorrow, I've changed my flights just for you." As Josie then leant in for a hug, Alison added: "It's what we do," before minutes later blaming the fact she was meant to be on holiday for her messing up some of the script, joking: "Mentally, I'm on the plane!"

They then went on to do their first interview of the show which was with young fundraiser Tony Hudgell who had completed his latest fundraiser which saw him take on an epic hike in the Lake District.

He appeared on the show via video link from Windermere alongside his adoptive parents Paula and Mark, when he voiced his frustration to talk about the challenge, which saw the young amputee trek up Orrest Head as has so far raised over
