Alfredo Morelos handed 'you can't trust him' tag as Rangers legend urges club to cash in

Rangers legend Graeme Souness has urged his former club to cash in on Alfredo Morelos.

The Colombian hitman was sent packing by referee Willie Collum as the Light Blues drew 2-2 with Hibernian at Easter Road on Saturday. John Lundstram had already been given his marching orders - in a decision the Ibrox men have since appealed - before being joined by the hitman, who had only been on the pitch 13 minutes.

Morelos has been no stranger to a red card in his Rangers career and after this latest dismissal, Souness believes now is the time for Giovanni van Bronckhorst to sell. The 26-year-old is in the final 12 months of his current deal at Ibrox and is yet to come to any agreement over fresh terms. Speaking on the White and Jordan show on talkSPORT, new Monday regular Souness said: "What's in his head? The ball is played to him, he puts a feeler out and then he has another go.

"If you do that, you will get sent off. It comes to a point where you need to cut your losses with a player like that, in my opinion. You are picking him to go to Celtic in a volatile atmosphere, and you don't know what you are going to get.

"I think it's a fact you can't trust him. You can't trust him in the big games. He gets goals but if Rangers are offered money for him, I'd be taking it.

"He's got to be cuter. He's not in the slightest. He has not learned his lesson, so I think Rangers should look to cash in, as you won't win the big games with 10 men.

"The hard facts are if you get sent off eight times, is that it suggests you are not learning."
