Alexandro Bernabei available for Celtic clash against Hearts as Ange Postecoglou reveals club probe into drink-drive charge

Ange Postecoglou revealed Alexandro Bernabei is available for selection for Sunday’s clash with Hearts after training this week despite the Argentinian full back’s arrest over an alleged drink-drive offence.

The 21-year-old arrived in the summer in a £3.75 million deal from South American side Lanus and was arrested in the early hours of Monday morning. Postecoglou admitted the club were dealing with the matter and “appropriate measures” would be taken if required. However, in the short term Bernabei could feature against the Jambos when the Scottish Premiership champions welcome Robbie Neilson’s men to the east end of Glasgow.

Postecoglou said: “Yeah, there was an incident earlier in the week. Now there are processes taking place externally and internally, and when they come to a conclusion, we’ll take the appropriate measures. He’s training and available for Sunday.”

Reo Hatate is also available again after injury but the Celtic boss refused to be drawn on the reported pursuit of Sead Haksabanovic, with the Montenegrin said to be ready to undergo a medical as early as this week.
