Alex Telles sends message to Manchester United teammates after exit confirmed

After departing Manchester United on a season-long loan to Sevilla, Alex Telles has told his Reds teammates he will be keeping an eye on their progress throughout the new campaign.

Telles was pushed out following the arrival of Tyrell Malacia which meant the former Porto man became one of three senior left-backs at the club. The 29-year-old made just 21 Premier League appearances last term and makes a move to the five-time Europa League winners for the 2022/23 season.

Telles was brought to United to provide competition for Luke Shaw at the beginning of the 2020/21 season, but was unable to dislodge the England left-back. He did, however, spur the former Southampton man on to have one of his best seasons that year with Shaw's form earning him a starting spot for England during last summer's European Championship.

Telles, meanwhile, failed to sustain his challenge for Shaw's spot at United, making 50 appearances in all competitions across two seasons. He did, however, retain a place in the Brazil squad, making two appearances for his country earlier this year.

After his deal with Sevilla was confirmed, Telles wrote on social media: "To everyone at United: colleagues, staff, fans. I will be supporting and cheering you on all season. Thanks for the moments so far."

Commenting on his new club, Telles added: “WE GO! I am honoured by this opportunity. I arrive with a lot of desire to add and get the best possible results for Sevilla. I can't wait to debut and be able to help my teammates.”
