Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain 'turned down' Premier League transfer from Liverpool in January
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain reportedly turned down the chance to join Newcastle United in January.
Oxlade-Chamberlain is said to have decided to stay at Anfield and fight for his place but with just over a year remaining on his contract, a decision on his future between club and player could be imminent.
The Times claim Oxlade-Chamberlain had 'little incentive' to move away from Liverpool in the winter and report he is a well liked member of the squad due to his positive mentality.
However, at 28, Oxlade-Chamberlain has some thinking to do about his future as he enters his peak playing years.
He has been unfortunate with his time at Liverpool so far. The horrendous knee injury he suffered in the Champions League semi-final against Roma in 2018 took a year of his career away and also stopped him in his tracks as he was in the form of his life.
