Alejandro Garnacho: Man Utd fans want him to start after scintillating goal vs Liverpool U23s

Manchester United have had an extremely poor season.

The Red Devils were expected to challenge on all fronts but that did not materialise.

United look set to finish outside the Premier League top four and were knocked out of the Champions League at the last 16 stage.

They also failed to reach the latter stages of the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup, meaning their five-year trophy drought goes on.

There is reason for optimism, though.

United have a number of talented youngsters coming through their ranks, including Alejandro Garnacho.

The 17-year-old has been lighting it up for United’s youth teams and recently made his debut for the first-team, coming on in the final moments of their Premier League clash against Chelsea.

He was in action for the U23s on Sunday against Liverpool and he scored a scintilating goal in a 3-1 defeat.

The Argentine showed blistering pace to latch onto a through ball from Alvaro Fernandez, before producing a cool chipped finish into the net.

United fans have been calling for him to be given a more prominent role in the first-team following his strike.

Garnacho looks a real talent. Ralf Rangnick is clearly aware of the Argentine’s talent and has raved about him in recent weeks.

After including him in United’s squad for their game against Norwich, Rangnick said, per the Mirror:“[Garnacho] has been training with us [the first team] for the last two weeks and I know that he is one of the most promising players.
