Alejandro Garnacho can help Manchester United teammate after return from injury

Manchester United’s youngster Alejandro Garnacho has been missing through injury since last month’s draw with Southampton. As he nears return, we look at how he can benefit the team in the last few weeks of the season.

Garnacho picked up an injury following a dangerous-looking tackle by Southampton full-back Kyle Walker-Peters and fans were gutted to learn he would miss a number of weeks. Earlier this week they got the news they had hoped for as Garnacho posted on social media he was back training with boots on. This has left many supporters growing excited in anticipation of the teenage sensation's return.

United have sorely missed Garnacho and his absence has led the left-wing to be occupied by the struggling Jadon Sancho or Marcus Rashford who is, at this moment, more pivotal up front. Garnacho’s return should allow Rashford to fully return to the number nine position.

Garnacho has racked up four goals and four assists in his maiden season as a first-team footballer. However more than just his stats, Garnacho excels in causing the opposition danger down the left through his pace and dribbling ability, with his determined mindset also proving to be an asset.

Rashford has shouldered the burden of goals for the club this season but Garnacho can be the key to unlocking United’s potency. Last week against Forest, on more than one occasion, balls were fizzed across the box begging for a touch from Sancho. However, the former Dortmund winger was nowhere to be seen.
