Aldi issues warning to shoppers after new snack appears on Channel 4 TV show

Aldi has issued a 'while stocks last' warning for a new £1.99 snack that featured on Channel 4's 'Aldi's Next Big Thing. ' The programme sees artisan suppliers compete for a 'life-changing' contract to have their product stocked in over 1,000 Aldi stores nationwide.

Hosted by Anita Rani and Chris Bavin, the competition spans various categories including dinners, baked goods, party, world, and confectionery.

The products are presented to Julie Ashfield, managing director of buying at Aldi UK, who considers factors such as price, packaging, shopper demand, and scalability before narrowing down the contestants to just two.

After receiving feedback, finalists have four weeks to make improvements, followed by a home visit from either Anita or Chris who report back to Julie. The trio then taste test the improved products, before Julie selects the winner which will be sold as a Specialbuy in over 1,000 stores.

One recent winner from the 'confectionery' episode was Cluster Club, a brand selling chocolate coated fruit and nut clusters with walnuts, Brazil nuts and hazelnuts.

Aldi is currently stocking all three flavours - Belgian chocolate and orange, white chocolate and cranberry, and Belgian milk chocolate - and has recently reduced the price of each pouch from £2.29 to £1.99, reports the Liverpool Echo.

Online, the in-store only Cluster Club products are listed with a warning that they are available only 'while stocks last'.
