Aldershot boss makes 'huge' Notts County admission

Aldershot Town manager Mark Molesley says he is a "big fan" of Notts County and knows his side face a "huge challenge" against the Magpies this weekend.

Promotion-chasing Notts take on fourth-from-bottom Aldershot at the EEB Stadium in Hampshire on Saturday (3pm). Molesley's side are eight points clear of the relegation zone and, with games running out, on the brink of safety.

They drew 1-1 at Bromley on Tuesday night, with only a late equaliser denying them victory. "It's a step closer and a really positive performance, but a frustrating one as the boys have given absolutely everything out there again and we were agonisingly close to getting the job done," Molesley told the club's official website.

"But we'll take the positives from it and if we carry on like that, we'll be fine. We're certainly finishing the season strong, that is for sure."

On the Magpies, he added: "It's a huge challenge. I'm a big fan of Notts County and they play some lovely football on their day.

"I think they are one of the strongest teams in the league. They play a great brand of football and they're going to test us in every which way.

"But we've shown we're up for the fight. We've shown that we can go toe-to-toe with anyone in this league when we're on song, and we've got everything to fight for.

"We believe in ourselves and performances like this add to that. We can't use that as disappointment, we've got to use that to fuel our fire and fuel our confidence, because we've shown a lot out there.

"We will continue to show that. I know we will be fine, but we want to get over the line sooner rather than later."
