Alasdair Gold hints at major Tottenham agreement pending one condition

Tottenham Hotspur reporter Alasdair Gold would not be surprised to see Harry Kane put pen to paper on a new deal this summer. 

The Spurs correspondent was discussing the England captain’s future in N17 on his YouTube channel ahead of the final game of the campaign on Sunday.

Kane now has two years remaining on his deal with the Lilywhites and has had his future heavily speculated over the course of the last year.

However, with a potential move to Manchester City now out of the picture as a result of them agreeing to sign Erling Haaland, it has left Gold feeling a contract extension could be a realistic option.

Going into the final game of the 2021/22 season, it looks likely Spurs will secure a spot in the top four, which could play a major part in Kane’s decision.

He said: “I think if top four’s there especially, I think it becomes such an easier decision for everyone just to crack on with what they’re doing.

“I don’t think there becomes any questions about Harry Kane’s future. Like I think I’ve said before, I wouldn’t be stunned if there ends up being a new contract for Harry Kane if Spurs get top four, to reward him.

“You might think maybe Harry Kane’s best thought would be to just see out his contract. But I don’t know, I don’t get the impression he’s that kind of guy. And hopefully, you know, he loves Conte, and I think he’ll see where Conte is hopefully going to take them.”
