Alarms ring out in early hours across Greater Manchester suburb after hundreds of homes hit by power cut

Hundreds of homes in south Manchester have been hit by a power cut this morning.

The outage has hit parts of Burnage and Levenshulme, according to Electricity North West. Videos capture alarms sounding out from homes this morning due to the cut.

Around 389 properties are believed to be affected. The outage was first reported at around 5.25am with electricity expected to be restored by 7am.

A tweet posted by Electricity North West said: "We are aware of a #powercut in the M19 area of #Manchester, it is affecting 389 properties and we have an engineer en-route. Need updates? Please DM us your address and a mobile number."
