Alan Shearer names two Manchester United stars in Premier League Team of the Week

Alan Shearer insists there is 'no stopping' Marcus Rashford as he named the Manchester United striker in his Premier League Team of the Week alongside teammate Bruno Fernandes.

Rashford scored twice either side of half-time as United cruised to a 3-0 win at home to Leicester City on Sunday, the 25-year-old continuing to stake his claim to be the best forward in the world in 2023. Jadon Sancho secured all three points just past the hour, finishing a brilliant move that was set up by a magnificent Fernandes cutback.

It was Rashford who rightly took the headlines as a clinical brace saw him climb to 24 goals for the season and 16 since the return of domestic action following the World Cup - more than anyone else across Europe's top five leagues.

And in naming the Reds star in his Team of the Week, former Newcastle United frontman Shearer said of Rashford: "There is just no stopping him. Two more goals and is looking a completely different player to last season."

Portuguese midfielder Fernandes enjoyed yet another outstanding display in red. His two assists took the 28-year-old up to 15 goal contributions for the season - the second most at the club but still less than half of Rashford's incredible 31 - and he was also named in Shearer's team.

On Fernandes, Shearer said: "Conducted the play like only he can. His superb passes created two of Man Utd's three goals."
