Al-Shehri scores again as Saudi Arabia and Albania draw

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia and Albania played out a 1-1 draw in the UAE on Wednesday as the Green Falcons continue their march toward the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Saleh Al-Shehri scored the Saudi goal from the penalty spot.

Saudi coach Harvé Renard made a number of changes to the side that beat North Macedonia on the weekend. 

The team were buoyed by meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Sunday.

The Green Falcons next three games are Honduras, Iceland and Panama.

The team has been preparing for the greatest footballing contest in the world, which takes place next month, with a camp in Abu Dhabi and have recently welcomed back a number of players from injury.

In Qatar, Saudi Arabia will face Argentina, Poland and Mexico in the group stages. Their first match is against Argentina on Nov. 22.
