Al-Nassr sack Rudi Garcia amid allegations of rift with ex-Manchester United man Cristiano Ronaldo

Al-Nassr have confirmed the departure of their manager Rudi Garcia after reports of a rift between himself and Cristiano Ronaldo. Garcia left his role in charge of the Saudi Arabian club after their 0-0 draw against Al Feiha on Sunday.

Ronaldo was visibly angry with his teammates during and after the game, arguing with other players after the final whistle before storming down the tunnel. The 59-year-old manager was vocal with his own frustrations after the game, adding that he didn't 'feel satisfied with the players’ performance'.

A statement from the club on Thursday read: “Al-Nassr can announce that head coach Rudi Garcia has left the club by mutual agreement.

“The board and everyone at Al Nassr would like to thank Rudi and his staff for their dedicated work during the past eight months.”

Reports earlier in the week suggested that the atmosphere in the dressing room was one of frustration towards Garcia, with players said to be unhappy with the Frenchman's training methods. Those reports added that Ronaldo was unhappy with the manager's tactics after a recent drop in form saw them fall into second place in the Saudi Pro League.

Ronaldo joined Al-Nassr in December, following his exit from Manchester United after an explosive interview with Piers Morgan. The Portuguese international was heavily critical of the club, admitting he had no respect for Erik ten Hag.

The 38-year-old has 11 goals in 10 league matches but has also found himself frustrated in recent weeks. Garcia had been in charge of the Saudi outfit since last summer, overseeing 16 wins from 23 league matches, although those in charge seem to have sided with the
