Ajax plot Queen's Park raid as Marijan Beuker 'lined up' as part of mega Dutch rebuild

Ajax are aiming to raid Queen's Park for director of football Marijn Beuker - less than two years into his TEN-year deal in Glasgow.

Beuker was viewed as a coup appointment by the Spiders back in November and is renowned in his homeland for his ability to spot and develop young players. There have been clear signs of that paying off in the two years since his appointment in Glasgow's Southside, the Spiders now established in the Championship with one of the youngest squads in the SPFL.

Highly-rated keeper Callan McKenna, now a first-team regular at just 16, is one of many young talents credited to Beuker's involvement. And the job the 39-year-old development specialist is doing hasn't gone unnoticed back in the Netherlands. According to various reports he is being lined up for a move back to Holland - with crisis-hit Ajax viewing him as a key part of the rebuild they are facing.

He still has eight years to run on the unprecedented deal he put pen to paper on, which isn't due to expire until 2031. But it's believed a formal approach from Ajax is imminent with Queen's Park facing a fight to hold onto him.

Ajax have won just one of six games this season and currently sit in the relegation zone. They've brought in Louis van Gaal as a director to stave off the crisis and it's believed they see Beuker as part of a dual appointment, tasked with leading their player development with another appointment brought in to lead their recruitment.
