AJ Styles names shock WWE Raw star as the best heel in wrestling

AJ Styles has named the WWE Superstar who he thinks is currently the ‘best heel in the business’.

Over the course of his illustrious career, Styles has come face-to-face with some of the best heel’s the industry has had to offer. The Phenomenal One has also dabbled on the dark side too, having memorable runs in WWE against John Cena and most recently in tandem with Omos, terrorizing Raw’s tag team division. 

Since splitting with the Colossus, AJ has returned to being a fan favourite and feuded with young up and comer Grayson Waller on NXT 2.0. Someone who he has compared to a current WWE Superstar.

Speaking to Ryan Satin on the latest episode of his Out of Character podcast, Styles likens Waller to The Miz, and calls the A-Lister ‘the best heel in the business.’

You wanna hate [Waller],” said Styles. “He reminds me of The Miz. In my opinion, I don’t care what anybody says, the best heel in the business is The Miz. He’s so good, and I tell him often that, ‘Man, you’re great. You’re so good. Nobody better.’ And I believe that.”

The Miz is coming off the back of a programme with Edge, and Styles believes that there is no one like him when it comes to understanding what it takes to be a good ‘heel’. 

“To me, there’s no one who understands what a heel’s supposed to be like [better] than The Miz,” said Styles. “…That’s what I wanted to be. I’m just not as good as him. That’s what I wanna be, and that’s what heels should wanna be, they should not wanna be liked. They should wanna be spit on and all this stuff.”
