Airdrie slash Cove Rangers ticket prices as they call on Diamonds fans to "raise the roof" for crunch clash

Airdrieonians have called on fans to raise the roof at New Broomfield this weekend as they announced they have slashed ticket prices for their top the table clash with Cove Rangers in League One.

The Diamonds welcome Paul Hartley's league leaders to town on Saturday needing a win to have any real hopes of catching their rivals.

There are just six games left of the campaign and Ian Murray's men trail Cove by five points.

Both sides are on incredible unbeaten runs with Airdrie going 14 games without defeat, while Cove are on a 19-game streak.

Airdrie and Cove have already both ensured they will be in the play-offs at worst this season, but a win for either side at the weekend will have a huge bearing on their season.

Now, Airdrie - who have yet to beat Cove in three meetings this term - are hoping reducing ticket sales will encourage the Diamonds faithful to back their team in their droves.

Adult tickets are priced at a reduced rate of £10 and all concessions are £5, but the prices are only available online before the match.

Any tickets sold in the public bar prior to kick-off will be full price of £18 for adults, £13 for concessions, £7 for children under-16 and a parent and child ticket will be £20.

A statement from Airdrie read: "After a strange season with no crowds permitted, the Airdrie faithful have been superb in their backing of this year’s exciting squad - from the bumper crowd roaring the Diamonds to a 2-0 win over rivals Motherwell to the few hardy souls who travelled to Montrose in horrendous conditions - Ian Murray and the players have been quick to recognise the part that the support has played in an excellent season for the club.

"With a play-off place now secured, the squad have six games left to battle
