Airdrie boss says Diamonds gave him everything as they see off Falkirk

Airdrie boss Rhys McCabe says every player gave him everything as they swept Falkirk aside 4-0 in their League One crunch clash at New Broomfield.

Callum Gallagher sent the Diamonds on their way to a good win with a strike either side of half-time, while subs Gabby McGill and Salim Kouider-Aissa added polish with late strikes.

McCabe says the win was deserved, but admitted Airdrie needed to get to grips with Falkirk before they could take the points.

He said: "Going on the second-half performance four was about right, without being disrespectful to Falkirk.

“I didn’t think we were at it in the first half, we struggled to get to grips with their rotation and movement, especially in the middle to top end of the pitch.

“But we came in at half-time, we spoke about it, and I think you saw in the second half that once we had got to grips with it we started moving the ball more like us, and we came away comfortable winners.

“I’m delighted for big Sal, he’s been out for a long time with a serious injury and he’s been putting in the hard yards.

“Gabby might feel hard done-by not to have started today, but he took his chance well.

"Gal has made a career out of it – I’ve seen him have the worst game in the world but he can still come up with a hat-trick.

“He’s one of those players who always seems to do well against Falkirk.

“Everybody gave us so much today and with Gal that’s the icing on the cake with those two goals".
