AFCON qualifiers: Osimhen, 21 others arrive camp for Guinea Bissau clashes

A total of 22 players are now in camp in Abuja as the Super Eagles intensify their preparation for Nigeria’s 2023 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against the Djurtus of Guinea Bissau.

Sources told The Guardian that the trio of Leicester City forward, Kelechi Iheanacho, Samuel Chukwueze of Villarreal and Napoli star-striker, Victor Osimhen joined the team’s camp on Tuesday.

Head coach, José Santos Peseiro last week Tuesday invited team captain Ahmed Musa, in-form forwards, Osimhen and Ademola Lookman as well as 20 other players to the Super Eagles’ camp ahead of this month’s 2023 AFCON qualifiers against Guinea Bissau.

Nigeria and Guinea Bissau clash at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja from 5:00 pm on Friday, 24th March, and then make it a second date at the Estadio 24 de Setembro in Bissau on Monday, 27 March, also starting from 5:00 pm.

Table-toppers Nigeria is on six points from their win over Sierra Leone and Sao Tome and Principe, with the Djurtus in second place on four points from their defeat of Sao Tome and Principe and draw with the Leone Stars.
