AFCON 2023: Super Eagles can beat Cote d’Ivoire- Igali

Daniel Igali, the president of the Nigeria Wrestling Federation (NWF), said on Wednesday in Abuja that the Super Eagles can defeat Cote d’Ivoire in their second match of the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Super Eagles will face the Elephants of Cote D’Ivoire in their second match on Thursday at the Stade Olympique Alassane Ouattara, Abidjan.

Igali said he is very optimistic that the Eagles will do all they can to scale through to the second round of the tournament.

“This second match is a very crucial one for the Super Eagles, and they must put in all their strength and tactics to win it.

“The Ivorian team is highly rated in Africa and they have some of the best footballers playing professional leagues all over the world.

“I want to believe that our boys will rise to the occasion this time I’m very confident it is a match we must have to win,” he said

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Nigeria drew 1-1 with Equatorial Guinea in their opening Group A fixture at the Alassane Ouattara Olympic stadium in Abidjan, in Côte d’Ivoire.

Nigeria is grouped in group A alongside Equatorial Guinea, Guinea Bissau and the host, Cote d’Ivoire.

The 2023 AFCON which started on Jan. 13 in Cote d’Ivoire is expected to end on Feb. 11.
