AEW: Claudio Castagnoli talks his run so far

Claudio Castagnoli is one of the latest additions to the AEW locker room, with the Swiss Superman lighting up the ring with his unbelievable power and technicality.

Castagnoli recently spoke about his AEW run so far with NBC Sports Boston.

When speaking to NBC Sports Boston, Castagnoli described his start in AEW as “organic” and that he “couldn’t be happier” with the start of his AEW career.

He was speculated after Bryan Danielson’s promo on NJPW and Suzuki-Gun’s Zack Sabre Jr on the Dynamite before AEW X NJPW’s Forbidden Door.

Danielson didn’t reveal it to be Castagnoli but gave great clues that could suggest his arrival. The American Dragon would also reveal that ZSJ’s mystery opponent would be the newest addition to The Blackpool Combat Club.

As ZSJ waited in the ring for his opponent, the music hit, and it was revealed to be Claudio Castagnoli, in Blackpool Combat Club gear, who received a thunderous pop from the Chicago crowd.

The match would be a display of technical brilliance, but Castagnoli would emerge victorious.

He would continue his momentum the following Wednesday, picking up the victory for his team in Blood and Guts by making Matt Menard tap out on top of the cage.

Castagnoli doesn’t look to be slowing down anytime soon and even remains undefeated in all competition after beating former tag team partner Jake Hager in week 1 of AEW Fyter Fest.

However, the biggest match of his career happens tonight, with him having the opportunity to win his first-ever world title.

Castagnoli had his challenge accepted on AEW Rampage to face ROH World Champion Jonathan Gresham at tonight’s ROH Pay-Per-View, Death Before Dishonor.

You can watch ROH Death Before Dishonor and AEW internationally on FITE TV.
