AEW: Blood and Guts date revealed
During the Jericho Appreciation Society segment on Dynamite, it was revealed that AEW will be bringing back one of the most brutal matches in the history of the company.
William Regal and Eddie Kingston made their way to the stage to confront the Jericho Appreciation Society, who was reflecting and soaking in their victory in the Anarchy In The Arena match on Sunday night’s Double Or Nothing Pay-Per-View.
Regal would take homage back to his NXT days and put a twist on one of his most iconic phrases for when two teams were at the peak of a heated rivalry. This being “War Games”. However, last night on Dynamite Regal revealed the return of AEW’s devastating match types, Blood and Guts in familiar War Games fashion.
The competitors scheduled to compete are the same as that who were in the Anarchy In The Arena match at Double Or Nothing.
Blood and Guts was first introduced during the rivalry between the Inner Circle and the Pinnacle. Blood and Guts are very similar to War Games with the match having two rings attached and surrounded by a huge steel cage.
The difference between the Blood and Guts cage and War Games is that the Blood and Guts match sees the cage have a roof, whereas The War Games cage doesn’t. This being all members of the JAS v Eddie Kingston, Santana, Ortiz and Blackpool Combat Club’s Jon Moxley and Bryan Danielson.
The next Blood and Guts match is scheduled to take place on the June 29th edition of AEW Dynamite in Detroit, MI, at Little Caesars Arena. This is scheduled to be the post-Forbidden Door show of Dynamite. Therefore the show will probably feature all the fallout from the highly anticipated AEW X NJPW event.
You can watch AEW internationally on FITE TV.
