AEW: Big update for women's Owen Hart Foundation Tournament

It was revealed last night on AEW Rampage who will replace the injured Hikaru Shida in the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament.

During a segment with The Baddies, led by TBS Champion Jade Cargill. Tony Schiavone revealed that quarter-finalist Red Velvet will not have a place in the semi-finals by default.

Instead, it was stated that Red Velvet will go against a replacement opponent, this person being an old friend of Velvets in Kris Statlander.

Stalander will be replacing Hikaru Shida. Shida was reported to be injured in her Phillidelphia Street Fight where she lost to the current Number 1 Contender for the AEW Women’s Championship, Serena Deeb.

The winner of Velvet vs Statlander will advance to collide with qualified semi-finalist Toni Storm who was victorious over Jamie Hayter on Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite.

Also on Rampage, we saw that Ruby Soho qualified after a war with former AEW Women’s Champion Riho. Soho picked up the victory after dropping Riho with a devastating Bladerunner to pick up the win.

Soho will collide with the winner of Dr Britt Baker D.M.D and The Joker card who will be revealed on the day of next week’s AEW Dynamite.

However, Velvet and Statlander will collide next Friday on a special start time edition of AEW Rampage.

You can watch AEW internationally on FITE TV.
