AEW: 2021 award winners announced

Last night prior to AEW Dynamite the AEW awards took place for 2021 and there were some huge names among the winners.

The AEW Awards 2021 were handed out in order to celebrate the biggest moments within the calendar year. The voting process was done by fans over a period of several weeks and the awards were then presented by Tony Schiavone.

The list of winners is shown below:

Biggest Surprise – Adam Cole and Bryan Danielson All Out 2021.Best Mic moment- CM Punk Chicago promoBiggest Beatdown- Hangman Adam Page for 60-minute draw with Bryan Danielson.Best Twitter Follow- Nyla RoseHigh Flyer Of The Year- Dante MartinBest Fashion moment- Brit Bakers “BrittsBurgh” OutfitBest Tag Team Brawl- Lucha Bros AEW Tag Title win over Young Bucks inside steel cage (All Out 2021).Best Mic Battle- CM Punk and MJF Thanksgiving EveBreakout Star (Male)- Sammy GuevaraBreakout Star (Female) – Jade CargillWrestler Of The Year- Kenny Omega.

The awards even saw the first on-screen appearance of Kenny Omega since the post All Out Dynamite to collect his award. Omega followed up in the speech saying that he plans to win it again next year, meaning that we could see him on AEW television within the next year.

The first indication of an Omega return was at the Revolution Buy-In when Don Callis emerged to ring to indicate that “The Best Bout Machine” will be back very soon, saying that he will also be back to reclaim his AEW World Title as he technically still has a rematch clause to cash in at some point.
