Aer Lingus boosts capacity on Manchester to New York route with seats starting from £215

Aer Lingus is increasing the capacity on its route from Manchester Airport to New York this summer by 72 per cent, offering customers more choice on the transatlantic route. Seats will start from £215 each way, including taxes and charges.

The airline is replacing its single-aisle Airbus A321LR on the Manchester to New York service with a larger twin-aisled Airbus A330. This means 317 seats will be available in economy, up from 287.

There’s an 88 per cent increase in business class seats, increasing from 14 to 30. Business class fares start from £1,750.

Customers can choose from 270,000 seats on sale from Manchester to the US, in what is Aer Lingus’ biggest summer schedule yet, thanks to the bigger aircraft. The airline has expanded its network following the success of its Manchester-based operations.

This summer, Aer Lingus will fly daily and direct from Manchester to New York JFK and to Orlando in North America, with seasonal winter services to Barbados due to restart in November. As well as the transatlantic routes, the carrier also operates daily services from Manchester to Dublin, with up to six a day, which offer onward connections to 13 transatlantic routes.

The single-aisled aircraft will be redeployed onto its transatlantic routes from Dublin, including to Hartford, which launched last month, as well as Dublin to Cleveland, which takes off in May.
